The Maestro in Series: Explorations of Form, Color, and Technique

May 15, 2024 – Fall 2025

Exhibition Overview

This display of works by Maestro Lino Tagliapietra presents eight virtuoso pieces from eight different series of works made between the years 2005–2017. The series featured include: Cello, Piccadilly, Chiocciola, Vienna, Saba, Kookabura, Madras, and Poesia.

The Maestro’s series were not explored consecutively, but rather overlapped and influenced one another, sometimes merging and flowing to inform new variations. Each series, and the pieces within them, manipulates color, form, and technique, demonstrating Tagliapietra’s creative mastery. The pieces in this display are part of the promised gift to the Museum from the Lino Tagliapietra archive, providing a glimpse into the depth and breadth of the collection.
