Visiting Artists at MOG

It’s just really exciting to feel that my creative self has expanded a little bit by being here. Dan Webb, Visiting Artist 2015

The Museum’s Visiting Artist Residency Program hosts artists in our world-class Hot Shop to create new works in glass with our Hot Shop Team. These artists create a sense of excitement and wonder as they experiment and explore new directions in their art that may not be possible in their own studios. Residencies range in length from single-day visits to multiple weeks, and one piece created during the residency is selected for inclusion in the Museum's Permanent Collection. On the Sunday of their residency at 1pm, Visiting Artists share their ideas and creative processes, and invite guests to ask questions and learn more about the body of work they have created during the week.

Annual Visiting Artist Programs

Pilchuck Summer Series

From Memorial Day through Labor Day, we're pleased to present the Visiting Artist Summer Series, a partnership with Pilchuck Glass School, that brings artists from around the world to the Hot Shop. Each artist spends a week in the Hot Shop, continuing their works begun at Pilchuck.

Application for Visiting Artist Residencies

Each year, MOG invites artists to apply for a Visiting Artist Residency to explore new techniques or continue a current series. Selected artists have use of our state-of-the-art Hot Shop and the assistance of our Team.

Fuel Their Fire

This unique opportunity enables individuals to sponsor an artist, providing them with the means to create new concepts and forms in glass. Sponsored artists receive five days in the Hot Shop at Museum of Glass, with a world-class team of glassblowers, two days of cold-working, equipment and supplies, and hotel accommodations. Artists retain all the work produced, except for two pieces; one is kept for the Museum’s Collection and one piece goes home with the sponsor.
