THE CONCEPT:

Fuel Their Fire is an opportunity for individuals to the support the work of artists by contributing to the costs of a Residency in MOG’s Hot Shop. Historically, this program has operated using auction process. This year we’re continuing to offer the opportunity of sponsorship, but we are removing the auction format in hopes of streamlining and personalizing the process.

Sponsors participating in Fuel Their Fire will enable artists to work in MOG’s Hot Shop with our Team of world renowned glassblowers for 5 days, providing artists of varying mediums and backgrounds the unique opportunity to realize new concepts and forms in glass with the skills and support of seasoned professionals.

As a thank you, sponsors receive a piece of artwork created during the residency. We also encourage sponsors to visit the Museum during residencies, and provide opportunities to enjoy time with artists they’ve supported as well as the Hot Shop Team. Sponsors will also be recognized on the live stream during the Residency, and elsewhere in printed materials and marketing efforts as relevant.

Supporting a Residency is $10,000.00, an amount which subsidizes the hard costs to the Museum when we welcome an artist to the Hot Shop for 5 days.

PREVIOUS FTF ARTIST : BRENDAN FERNANDES

Installation and performance artist Brendan Fernandes was sponsored through MOG’s Fuel Their Fire Program. Having never worked with glass, Fernandes relied on the expertise of MOG’s team to realize his vision, and was able to make a significant piece with huge impact. Hear more about his experience during his Residency at MOG.
