Past commissions have included...
Artist Ellen Sollod collaborated with the Museum of Glass Hot Shop Team during her Visiting Artist Residency to create a commissioned piece for The Brightwater Wastewater Treatment System, a 114-acre union of art, design, science, ecology and community. Collection and Transformation illuminates the process of wastewater treatment, celebrating the role of science and nature.
To celebrate the Museum's 10th anniversary in 2013, Museum of Glass partnered with Glass Distillery, a Seattle-based distiller of premium spirits. The Museum of Glass Hot Shop Team created one-of-a-kind artisan bottles for Glass Distillery's premium vodka, which were sold at the distiller's tasting room.
The Hot Shop Team created the coveted Mayor's Cup, awarded to the Rainier to Ruston Rail-Trail Relay winners every year. Local cities and towns are invited to get a team together to represent their community. The cup is then displayed at the winning team's town hall. It is currently on display in Buckley City Hall, where it will remain until National Trails Day 2015.
The Hot Shop Team worked alongside Seattle-based artist Ginny Ruffner in January 2014 to create pieces displayed at the 2014 Northwest Flower and Garden Show as part of Ruffner's collaboration with the Arboretum Foundation.
