In celebration of the 10^th anniversary of the Museum of Glass and the Chihuly Bridge of Glass, Museum of Glass is pleased to welcome artist Dale Chihuly back to the Hot Shop for a special one-day appearance, Sunday, September 23, 2012. Chihuly was the first Visiting Artist to work in the Hot Shop in July, 2002 as part of the Museum’s grand opening weekend.

Chihuly will bring with him artists Joey Kirkpatrick, Flora C. Mace, James Mongrain and Joey DeCamp. The team will create Soft Cylinders, one of Chihuly’s series.

About Dale Chihuly

Tacoma native Dale Chihuly is a world-renowned figure in contemporary studio glass. He has created more than a dozen well-known series of works and his work is included in more than 200 museum collections. Chihuly is the recipient of many awards, including eleven honorary doctorates and two fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Ticket price includes Museum of Glass admission and one timed ticket for one Hot Shop demonstration by Dale Chihuly and Team (demonstration lasts about 50 minutes). Additional timed tickets may be available for purchase for $5 each on September 23 at the Museum on a first come, first served basis, dependent on availability (additional timed ticket sales not available online). Ticket purchase is for admittance to the Hot Shop but does not guarantee a seat (accommodations will be made for visitors with special needs). No coupons or other discounts apply. All sales are final.
