Chihuly in Tacoma was a Huge Success!
Members: they came, they saw, they came again—and again!
The smiles and thunderous applause in the Museum’s Hot Shop said it all, as Museum members, artists and visitors from around the nation celebrated the career of Dale Chihuly.
From August 8 through 13, Dale and Team Chihuly held a working reunion with many of the master glassblowers, all stellar artists in their own right, who have held significant roles at Chihuly Studio over the past few decades.
More than 10,000 people visited the Museum in the six-day period.
The majority of them were Museum members, who were given priority access throughout the event. Other visitors were inspired to become members on the spot.
To those of you who are one of these 300 new members, welcome.
To those of you who are long-time members and supporters, thank you.
And to Dale and Team Chihuly, it was so much fun.
Let’s do it again!
