Museum of Glass welcomes bequests and promised gifts of art. The Museum’s Permanent Collection includes 20th- and 21st-century contemporary glass art, and our curator and Collections Committee must give careful consideration to such gifts prior to accepting them.
We ask that gifts be made in the areas in which we collect and that you notify Museum of Glass of your intentions beforehand so that our Collections Committee, curator and executive director/CEO may review and advise as to whether your work is best suited for our collection. The basis of the Collection includes international studio glass works of the 20th and 21st centuries with particular attention given to pieces that represent the Studio Glass movement of the Pacific Northwest. Please send photos and descriptions of objects, including information such as the date the work was made, the artist, title, and medium.
You may also choose to make a gift of a fractional interest in a work of art during your lifetime, which will allow for a current charitable gift deduction for the value of the percentage that is given to the Museum. Your remaining interest in the work of art would be promised to Museum of Glass and would be given during your lifetime or later through your will or trust.
This information is of a general nature. Advice from your own legal and tax counsel should be sought when considering any gift arrangement.
