May 23 - January 2013
Organized by Museum of Glass and LeMay - America's Car Museum
Classic Heat is a collection of large-scale glass hood ornaments. Renowned glassworker John Miller and Museum of Glass Hot Shop team recreated nine hood ornaments for display at both Museum of Glass and LeMay - America's Car Museum (ACM). The custom made, hand-blown works are 25-inches tall and were influenced by vehicles that will be on display at ACM like the 1952 Buick 8 Special, 1957 Chevy 210 and the 1929 Ford Model A. While the sculptures reference the original emblems, the finished pieces include elements from various makes and models. Half of the exhibit will be on display at Museum of Glass and the other half will be on display at ACM.
You will want to see all nine hood ornaments! Bring your receipt from ACM and present it at Museum of Glass to get $2 off the entrance price.
