By Justin Kuravackal, August 4, 2007 | Video; Swanson, Marc

wasp nestBefore he arrived in Tacoma, Marc sent us a sketch and photos of wasp nests. He wanted the glassblowing team to have a sense of what he wanted to do during this week. Much quicker than he expected, the team was able to combine several glassblowing techniques to create wasp nests that were exactly the way he envisioned. The first experimental forms were made with clear glass, but the final sculptures are either black or white.
