Interview with Fred Wilson

By Justin Kuravackal, August 11, 2007 | Wilson, Fred

The Tacoma News Tribune published an interview with Fred Wilson earlier this week that gives you a little insight into what he is doing this week at the Museum. Check out the article…

“I like the fact that glass alludes visually to a liquid but feels like a solid. It actually starts out as liquid and never really solidifies. I try not to move away from that idea. But my interest is specific to the color black, and liquid, and all the social references to that – tar, ink, oil – those have pivotal meanings for me. And what’s different about glass is when you work with other artists, each person brings a different talent and aspect to it. It can take you in another direction.”
