Week 9 Summer Series: VA Cork Marcheschi
Welcome to Week 9 of 11!
Cork Marcheschi is a San Francisco native who has been involved in the Fine Arts and Music scene for over 40 years. He has taught sculpture, critical studies and art history at the University of California at Berkley, the San Francisco Art Institute and the Minneapolis College of Art. He has had over 130 solo art exhibitions throughout the world and 50 public sculptures littered about the American landscape. He has collected and studied Art Deco and Art American and European Art pottery for 35 years.
At Pilchuck this summer, Cork taught PUBLIC ART: ILLUMINATING THE PROCESS. He comes to the Museum with “both mundane and extremely difficult” projects for the team. From “marbles and rondels to very precise blown sculptural pieces encased in clear class, 16 to 22 inches in length.”
See you in the Hot Shop.
