De-installation of Incidence
Due to the perpetual exhibition of the Buster Simpson, Incidence, displayed on the Museum’s roof top plaza, general wear of the piece has necessitated its removal.
Deinstallation has begun - the pool has been drained.
Beginning, July 16th at 8:00am, a crew will arrive to assist with the dismantling of the sculpture.
The panels will be taken down the ramps on carts – two by two. We have signage planned and will have curatorial and security staff on hand to help steer the visitors away from the ramps. Any encouragement to the visitors to use stairways when possible would be the best.
Crating and loading of the shipping truck (with forklift) will take place on the north side of the building (between the Museum and Woody’s Wharf). This area will be sanctioned off and monitored.
Deinstallation will be complete by the end of the day.

With the de-installation of Buster Simpson’s Incidence, it seems only appropriate to take a look back at the original installation process in 2002.
