Summer Hours Begin Memorial Day Weekend for Tacoma’s Museum District
Tacoma, Wash. (May 14, 2008)– Tacoma’s three downtown museums—Museum of Glass, Tacoma Art Museum and Washington State History Museum—will extend their hours of operations to seven days a week for the summer season beginning Memorial Day, May 26, 2008. This schedule provides greater flexibility for residents to bring out of town guests downtown and for tourists to visit all three museums when planning their busy vacation itineraries. The extended hours will remain in effect through Labor Day weekend, September 1, 2008.
Both the Museum of Glass and Tacoma Art Museum will be open for the Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day holidays. The Washington State History Museum will be open for Independence Day but not Memorial Day or Labor Day. Specific hours for each institution are:

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday – Saturday
12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday
10 a.m. to 8 p.m. third Thursday of each month (free admission 5 to 8 p.m.)

The Mid-week @ the Museums ticket price will continue every Wednesday throughout the summer. Visitors can purchase one ticket and experience all three museums on Wednesdays for a discounted rate: $18 adults; $16 seniors (age 62+) and military; $14 children 6-18. Valid on Wednesdays only.
