Martin Blank’s residency continues in the Hot Shop with multiple dates over the next two weeks. Stop by and see this dynamic artist as he continues to create hot-sculpted glass components for Fluent Steps , a new permanent installation that will span the entire length of the 210-foot-long Main Plaza reflecting pool. The sculpture will capture the emotive nature of water and play with the light and water echoing the Pacific Northwest’s unique environment. This installation will become part of the Museum’s permanent collection and is scheduled to open in early fall. Learn more about Fluent Steps »

Blank and his glass sculpting team will fabricate the elements for Fluent Steps in the Museum Hot Shop on numerous dates, through June 24. But if you can’t make it to the Museum, watch Blank via the Museum’s new live Hot Shop video feed (during Museum hours).
