Guess What I Shot
Today I found a flickr group called Guess What I Shot. (If you don’t know, flickr.com is probably the best photo-sharing website there is and has helped redefine what a photo sharing site should be.) The group is made up of several hundred folks who upload enigmatic photos (mostly extreme close-ups) and then the others try to guess what the subject of the photo was.
Like Jim Campbell’s work, these photos push the liminal threshold: they are often at the very edge of being recognizable. (Read the other posts about Jim Campbell for more info, including video of his artwork.)
