In The Clothes Horse storefront in Baltimore’s midtown neighborhood of Mount Vernon, Scott created a display with clothing and sets she had designed. Over the course of one evening, she periodically changed the costumes, props, and positions of the models, who were artist colleagues. A precursor to her performance work, this project also spoke to the close artistic community of which she was a part.

Models (from left to right): Aissatou Bey-Grecia (dancer, now Director of Injury Prevention Program, Harlem Hospital Center); Dr. Leslie King-Hammond (artist and MICA Dean of Graduate Studies); Rassaan Hammond (Scott’s godson); Helen Frederick (artist and founder of the print and papermaking shop Pyramid Atlantic); Oletha DeVane (artist and chair of McDonogh School art department).
