In the 1980s, Scott partnered with Kay Lawal to present the “Thunder Thigh Review.” Their performances about obsessive behaviors—from overeating to drugs—exposed society’s prejudices and problems.

For this outdoor work, commissioned by the New York Public Art Fund, Scott programmed the electronic billboard in Times Square with about twenty phrases and images. She intended to make viewers aware of the effects of injustice.
