Museum of Glass (MOG) and Tacoma Art Museum (TAM) are teaming up to offer a joint admission ticket November 11 – 15, 2009. The ticket price is $15 for regular adult admission to both museums, a $6 savings over purchasing individual admission at each museum.

On Halloween, October 31, 2009, the Museum of Glass will open a new exhibition that pays tribute to the imagination of children. Kids Design Glass showcases 52 glass sculptures designed by children and crafted by professional glass artists in the Museum of Glass Hot Shop.

Seattle artist Martin Blank, one of America’s premier young sculptors, finished assembling his new 207-foot-long outdoor glass art installation, Fluent Steps, on April 18, 2009. The work was commissioned by the Museum of Glass for its Permanent Collection of twentieth and twenty-first century glass and created for the Museum’s Main Plaza reflecting pool.

The Museum of Glass is pleased to present Preston Singletary’s first mid-career survey, Echoes, Fire, and Shadows, opening July 11, 2009. Singletary is recognized internationally for his work, which combines two of the Northwest’s most prominent artistic influences—traditional Native American designs and the medium of glass.

About the Museum of Glass
All glass, all the time. Experience contemporary glass art in a breathtakingly beautiful museum on Tacoma's revitalized waterfront. Feel the heat as you watch a team of artists create masterpieces from molten glass in the hot shop amphitheater, the Museum’s working glass studio. See edgy exhibitions of 20th- and 21st-century glass in the galleries, participate in a hands-on art project, watch original documentary films about glass art and the artists who create it, shop for glorious gifts in the store and stroll across the remarkable Chihuly Bridge of Glass.
Open Wednesday through Saturday 10am to 5pm, Third Thursdays 10am to 8pm, Sunday 12pm to 5pm. Store is also open Tuesdays 10am – 5pm. Summer hours (Memorial Day through Labor Day): also open Monday and Tuesday from 10am to 5pm. Closed September 30th, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. Admission is free for members, $10 general, $8 seniors, military and students (13+ with ID), $8 groups of 10 or more, $4 children (6-12) years old. Children under 6 are admitted free. Admission is free every third Thursday of the month from 5pm to 8pm.
